Cysterhood Herbal Teas for Hormonal Balance: A Natural Solution for Hormonal Imbalances

Hormonal imbalance occurs when the levels of one or more hormones, which act as chemical messengers in the body, become too high or too low. This term defines a range of conditions that can result from an imbalance in hormone levels.

Hormonal imbalance is a common issue among women and can be caused by various factors such as stress, poor diet, age, and medication. Hormones play a vital role in regulating various bodily functions such as metabolism, growth and development, mood, and reproductive health.

When hormones are not in balance, it can cause a range of symptoms that can be physical, emotional, or both. These symptoms can include irregular periods, acne, fatigue, mood swings, weight gain, headaches, hot flashes, vaginal dryness, and insomnia.

Causes of Hormonal Imbalance:

Normal hormonal shifts, such as monthly fluctuations of sex hormones estrogen and progesterone during menstruation, ovulation, and pregnancy, are a part of natural bodily functions. However, if the hormonal imbalance persists, it can lead to a range of symptoms that can be uncomfortable and debilitating. There are many factors that can cause hormonal imbalances in women, including polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), thyroid disorders, stress, obesity, certain medications, some contraceptives, and nutritional deficiencies.

It's important to note that these symptoms and conditions can also be caused by other factors, so it's important to consult with a healthcare provider for proper diagnosis and treatment.

Affected Age Group:

Hormonal imbalances can occur at various age groups in females. For example, during puberty (starting at around age 11 or 12 and lasting until the early 20s), girls experience a sudden increase in levels of estrogen and progesterone hormones.

During pregnancy, hormonal fluctuations are normal and will help in development and growth of the fetus. However, these imbalances can cause a variety of symptoms such as morning sickness, mood swings, fatigue, and changes in appetite.

In the late 40s to early 50s, women enter a phase called perimenopause, which is the transition period leading up to menopause. During this time, there is a decline in estrogen and progesterone levels, which can cause a variety of symptoms, such as hot flashes, vaginal dryness, sleep disturbances, and mood changes.

Syndromes such as PCOS and issues such as infertility usually affectwomen between the ages 15 and 44 (often referred to as the child bearing years’. Most women will not find out they have PCOS or infertility until their  20s and 30s, when they have problems getting pregnant and see their doctor. But PCOS can happen at any age after puberty.

What happens in Imbalanced Hormones:

When hormones are out of balance in women, it can cause a variety of medical conditions, depending on which hormones are affected and to the extent of the imbalance. While some of these imbalances require treatment, some imbalances can be temporary and resolve on their own. Some common symptoms that may occur when hormones are imbalanced in females include:

  • Irregular periods: Hormonal imbalances can cause irregular periods, or changes in the duration or flow of periods.
  • Acne: Hormonal fluctuations can lead to an increase in sebum production and inflammation, which can cause acne.
  • Fatigue: Hormonal imbalances can affect energy levels, leading to feelings of fatigue and exhaustion.
  • Mood swings: Hormonal fluctuations can affect neurotransmitters, which can lead to mood swings, depression, and irritability.
  • Weight gain: Hormonal imbalances can affect metabolism and appetite, leading to weight gain.
  • Headaches and migraines: Hormonal imbalances can lead to headaches and migraines.
  • Hot flashes and night sweats: Hormonal imbalances associated with perimenopause and menopause can cause hot flashes and night sweats.
  • Hair loss and Hirsutism: High androgen levels are often associated with male pattern balding and in some causes facial/ body hair growth referred to as hirsutism.
  • Vaginal dryness and discomfort during intercourse: Hormonal imbalances can lead to a decrease in estrogen levels, which can cause vaginal dryness and discomfort during intercourse.
  • Insomnia: Hormonal imbalances can affect sleep patterns, leading to insomnia.

Ways of Solving Hormonal Imbalance:

It is important to be aware of signs of a hormonal imbalance and to remember that there are ways to treat and manage it.

To diagnose a hormonal imbalance, such as PCOS your doctor will likely order a blood test to measure various levels of different hormones of the body. The doctor may also conduct a urine test to check for other hormones or to measure the amount of other hormones, or an ultrasound to see what is happening internally with your ovaries/ uterus. There are many different ways to address these imbalances, which may include:

Medical treatments

  • Hormonal therapy: this therapy includes using birth control pills or hormone replacement therapy which helps in regulating hormone levels and relieves symptoms.
  • Medications: In some cases, doctors may prescribe some medication to address specific symptoms or underlying conditions that are causing hormonal imbalances.
  • Getting a healthcare professional opinion: it's very important to consult with doctors or healthcare professionals for proper treatment before beginning any course of action by yourself.
  • Surgery: In some cases, surgery may be necessary to solve a hormonal imbalance. This is usually done to remove ovarian cysts or other reproductive organs that may be causing the imbalance.

Brigitte Warne, a model, entrepreneur, and the founder of Pcostowellness, researched natural treatments and therapies for PCOS after being diagnosed with the condition in 2017. She was told by a doctor that she would not be able to have children naturally and that there was no cure for it. As a result, she struggled with debilitating migraines, hair loss, fatigue, memory loss, no periods, anxiety, nausea, and severe cystic acne. However, in 2019, she naturally gave birth to her son, Flynn, and managed to clear up her cystic acne, regrow her hair, and regain her menstrual cycle. Through continued use of herbal tea, she was able to give birth to her daughter, Willa Daisy, at home in December 2021. Brigitte attributes her success to her dedication to healing her PCOS naturally and her commitment to developing her own herbal products that manage her symptoms naturally and have helped her to become pregnant with both her children. Her goal is to inspire other women who are struggling with their own PCOS and hormone imbalance journeys to thrive as she does now.

Pregnant in a month of using Cysterhood Tea

I purchased this tea as I needed some help regulating hormones to aid in TTC.

I had a miscarriage at the beginning of the year and felt that my hormones were out of whack.

Came across PCOS to wellness tea and thought I'd give it a go - BANG! Pregnant!

Very very happy with my purchase and I'll be heading to buy the pregnancy loose leaf tea

I feel like me again!

One month into using cysterhood and zenhood and I am beginning to feel myself again! My bloating has significantly decreased and my cravings have almost been eliminated. I also had a regular cycle this month!

Tastes Great!

The tea tastes great! Only just started drinking today so fingers crossed this helps my PCOS!

Absolutely love drinking this before bed! Helps me relax and wind down! It always take me about an hour or so of tossing and turning till I fall asleep but I’ve found that this helps me fall asleep faster. Bought some for my mother and mother in law also and they love it too.

Cysterhood has really helped my sister!

My sister has suffered from PCOS for years. Last year she told me that one of her New Year's resolutions was to really focus on healing from PCOS. I searched the internet far and wide for something to help her and found Cysterhood. My sister was never a tea drinker, but she absolutely loves this blend and drinks it twice a day. She has told me numerous times how much it is helping her. I'm back to order more!
